How to Connect WhatsApp Business App to ZazzyAgent

Already using WhatsApp Business on your phone?

You do not necessarily need to abandon that number to start using ZazzyAgent.

With the supported WhatsApp Business App connection, you can connect an existing business number to ZazzyAgent while keeping the WhatsApp Business App available on the phone.

This setup is often called WhatsApp coexistence because the same business number can work with the WhatsApp Business App and the WhatsApp Business Platform at the same time.

The setup is different from moving a WhatsApp number completely away from the app.

If you want the full background on WhatsApp API setup, read How to Get WhatsApp API and Connect WhatsApp to ZazzyAgent.

Before you start

Make sure:

  • The number is already being used on the WhatsApp Business App

  • You can access the phone that has that number

  • The WhatsApp Business App is updated

  • You can log into the Meta account that manages your business

  • You have the appropriate access to your Meta Business assets

The phone matters because the WhatsApp Business App connection includes a confirmation step on the phone.

If you are using a regular personal WhatsApp account, this is not the connection method you want.

What happens when you connect?

The basic idea is:

WhatsApp Business App
        │
        │ same business number
        │
        ▼
WhatsApp Business Platform
        │
        ▼
ZazzyAgent

The number remains associated with the business.

ZazzyAgent then gains access to the WhatsApp Business Platform side of the account so you can use features such as:

  • automated conversations

  • WhatsApp broadcasts

  • templates

  • flows

  • sequences

  • shared team inbox

  • customer management

  • integrations

The actual features available depend on the WhatsApp account and the ZazzyAgent plan.

Step 1: Open ZazzyAgent

Log in to your ZazzyAgent account.

Open the WhatsApp connection area and start the process for connecting a WhatsApp account.

The exact wording of the button may change as the interface is updated, but you are looking for the option that starts the Meta WhatsApp connection.

If you have never connected WhatsApp before, How to Get the WhatsApp Business API in India explains the normal API onboarding process in more detail.

Step 2: Start Meta's Embedded Signup

ZazzyAgent will open the Meta onboarding window.

This is where you connect the WhatsApp business assets to the account.

Sign in with the Meta account that has access to the business you want to use.

Be careful here if you manage multiple businesses.

Selecting the wrong Meta business can cause problems later when your WABA or phone number does not appear.

For a simple explanation of the relationship between your Meta business, WABA and WhatsApp number, read What Is a WABA? WhatsApp Business Account ID Explained.

Step 3: Select the business

Choose the Meta business associated with the WhatsApp Business account you want to connect.

Double-check the business name before continuing.

If you manage several businesses, do not select one simply because it is the first option shown.

Step 4: Select the WhatsApp Business account

Meta will ask you to choose or create the WhatsApp Business Account associated with the connection.

This is your WABA.

Your setup can be thought of as:

Meta Business
      ↓
WABA
      ↓
WhatsApp Business number
      ↓
ZazzyAgent

Your WABA is not the same thing as the WhatsApp Business App.

The App is what you use on the phone.

The WABA is part of the Meta business infrastructure behind the WhatsApp Business Platform.

For a deeper explanation, read What Is a WABA?.

Step 5: Choose the WhatsApp Business App number

Select the phone number that is already active in your WhatsApp Business App.

This is the important part.

You are not creating a second number.

You are connecting the existing business number to the WhatsApp Business Platform.

Make sure the number shown in Meta is the same one currently being used by your WhatsApp Business App.

Step 6: Complete the phone confirmation on your WhatsApp Business App

The coexistence connection uses your existing WhatsApp Business App to confirm the connection.

Follow the instructions shown during Meta's onboarding.

You may be asked to confirm the connection from the WhatsApp Business App, including a QR-code or in-app confirmation step.

Keep the phone nearby and keep the WhatsApp Business App open while completing this part.

This is the step that differentiates the App + API connection from a normal API-only number registration.

Important: don't switch to the wrong verification path

If you are trying to keep the same number active in the WhatsApp Business App, pay attention to the connection path Meta gives you.

The App + API setup uses an in-app confirmation step.

If you unexpectedly end up in a normal SMS/voice-number registration flow, stop and check that you started the correct existing-App connection path before continuing.

Do not repeatedly request verification codes for the wrong setup.

Step 7: Approve the requested permissions

Continue through Meta's permission screens.

Review the business and WhatsApp assets being connected.

Approve the permissions required to complete the connection.

Once Meta finishes the setup, return to ZazzyAgent.

Step 8: Check the WhatsApp connection in ZazzyAgent

Your WhatsApp account should now appear in your ZazzyAgent dashboard.

Open the connected account and check:

Business name

Phone number

WhatsApp account

Connection status

If everything looks correct, your WhatsApp number is ready for the next stage.

Step 9: Send a test message

Don't immediately start a large campaign.

Use another WhatsApp number and send a normal message to the connected business number.

Check that:

The message arrives

The conversation appears in ZazzyAgent

The phone still receives the conversation

The relevant automation works

The conversation appears in the Shared Inbox

This confirms that the connection is operating the way you expect.

What can you do after connecting?

Once the WhatsApp number is connected, you can start using the ZazzyAgent tools that apply to your account.

What about the WhatsApp Business App?

The purpose of this connection method is that the business can continue using the WhatsApp Business App while also using the WhatsApp Business Platform through ZazzyAgent.

That means the business can retain the familiar phone-based workflow while adding software capabilities around it.

You might still reply manually from the phone.

Your team can also work from ZazzyAgent.

Automation can respond when configured.

Broadcasts can run through the platform.

That is the practical meaning of coexistence.

What happens to your old chats?

The available onboarding flow can provide an option to share or sync business contacts and conversation history.

The exact data and history available to sync can depend on the connection and Meta's onboarding flow.

Don't assume that every chat, every device state or every historical message will behave exactly like a normal WhatsApp backup restore.

For businesses moving from an existing setup, it's worth reading What Happens to Your WhatsApp Number When You Migrate to ZazzyAgent when the number is already connected to another API provider.

What if the number won't connect?

Start by checking:

Are you using the correct Meta account?

Is the number actually on WhatsApp Business App?

Did you choose the correct Meta business?

Did you select the correct WABA?

Does your Meta account have the required permissions?

Is the number already connected to another API provider?

Did Meta open the correct App connection flow?

ZazzyAgent has a separate troubleshooting guide for connection problems: Can't Connect WhatsApp to ZazzyAgent? Troubleshooting Guide.

If the number has previously been connected to another WhatsApp API provider, use the migration route rather than repeatedly attempting a fresh connection. See Migrating a WhatsApp Number From Another Provider to ZazzyAgent.

What if phone registration appears after connection?

Some setups may still show a Register Phone option.

Do not use it simply because you see it.

Phone registration is a separate step and is only needed in situations where the number actually requires registration.

For the details, read How to Register a WhatsApp Phone Number in ZazzyAgent.

The simplest way to think about the setup

You are not replacing the WhatsApp Business App.

You are connecting the business number to another layer.

Your phone

The number stays the same.

The difference is what you can build around it.
