Instagram Account Not Showing in ZazzyAgent? Fix It

Updated
View as Markdown

You've logged into ZazzyAgent, started the Instagram connection and expected your Instagram account to appear—but it isn't there.

This is usually a Meta account-relationship or permission problem rather than an AI Agent problem.

Work through the checks below in order.

1. Make sure Instagram is a Professional account

ZazzyAgent's Instagram messaging automation requires a supported Professional account setup.

Check Instagram:

Profile → Settings and privacy → Account type and tools

Confirm that the account is configured as a Professional account.

The current connection troubleshooting guidance specifically identifies Business or Creator accounts as the supported Instagram setup.

2. Check the Facebook Page connection

Your Instagram account needs to be linked to the appropriate Facebook Page.

This is one of the most common reasons an Instagram account doesn't appear where expected.

Make sure:

Instagram

Correct Facebook Page

are connected.

3. Open Facebook and verify the Page

Log into Facebook using the account you're using for the ZazzyAgent authorization.

Open the relevant Page.

Make sure you actually have access to it.

If the Page belongs to another business account and you don't have the necessary access, Meta may not offer the asset during authorization.

4. Check you're using the correct Facebook account

It is surprisingly easy to be logged into the wrong Facebook account in the browser.

For example:

Facebook account A owns Page A.

Facebook account B owns Page B.

You authorize using B while expecting Instagram connected to A to appear.

Check the Facebook account before starting the connection again.

5. Check Meta authorization

Start the connection again.

During the Meta authorization process, review the:

  • Pages

  • Businesses

  • Instagram accounts

you are allowing access to.

Make sure the correct Instagram account is selected.

The current connection process explicitly uses Meta/Facebook authorization and account selection.

6. Check the Instagram–Facebook relationship

Open your Instagram professional account settings.

Confirm that the correct Facebook Page is connected.

If Instagram is linked to the wrong Page:

Correct the relationship first.

Then retry the ZazzyAgent connection.

7. Don't create another Facebook Page

If your Instagram account isn't appearing, don't immediately create a new Page.

First determine:

Which Page is already linked to this Instagram account?

Duplicate business assets can create more confusion.

8. Reconnect after fixing Meta

Once the Instagram/Page relationship is correct:

  1. Return to ZazzyAgent.

  2. Start the Instagram connection again.

  3. Authorize through Facebook.

  4. Select the correct assets.

  5. Return to ZazzyAgent.

  6. Check whether the Instagram account now appears.

9. Instagram appears but can't receive messages

That's a different problem.

If the account appears in ZazzyAgent but DMs aren't arriving, check:

Instagram → Settings and privacy → Messages and story replies → Message controls → Connected tools

Enable:

Allow access to messages

The current Instagram troubleshooting documentation identifies this setting specifically for situations where incoming messages are not captured.

10. Check whether the account was recently changed

If you recently:

  • Changed the Instagram account type

  • Changed the linked Facebook Page

  • Changed business access

  • Changed Facebook roles

  • Removed a connected integration

Meta may require you to authorize the connection again.

11. Remove and reconnect when necessary

If permissions are clearly wrong or incomplete, reconnecting can reset the authorization.

But don't repeatedly reconnect without first fixing the underlying Meta configuration.

The correct process is:

Fix Meta

Reauthorize

Check ZazzyAgent

rather than:

Reconnect repeatedly

Quick diagnosis

Account doesn't appear at all

Check:

Professional account → Facebook Page → Facebook access → Meta permissions

Account appears but DMs don't arrive

Check:

Connected Tools → Allow access to messages

Account appears but you can't enable automation

Check:

Account status → permissions → connection status

Wrong Instagram account appears

Check:

Which Facebook account and assets were selected during authorization?

The most important Instagram connection rule

Don't think of the Instagram connection as:

Instagram → ZazzyAgent

Think of it as:

Instagram Professional Account
          ↓
Facebook Page
          ↓
Meta authorization
          ↓
ZazzyAgent
          ↓
Instagram messaging

If one of those relationships is wrong, the connection can fail.
