# How to Register a WhatsApp Phone Number in ZazzyAgent

Most WhatsApp numbers connected through the normal ZazzyAgent onboarding process are registered automatically.

You may still see a **Register Phone** option in your WhatsApp settings.

This guide explains how to use it when manual registration is actually required.

## Before you start

Only proceed when your WhatsApp setup requires a fresh phone registration.

This may include situations such as:

* You changed the phone number.

* You changed the WhatsApp display name.

*   You're completing a supported migration.

If your WhatsApp connection is already working and you haven't changed anything, you normally don't need to repeat registration.

## Find Register Phone

Open your WhatsApp connection in ZazzyAgent.

Locate your connected WhatsApp phone number.

Open the registration option for that number.

You should see a field for: Register Number under actions

**6 Digit PIN**

You may also see:

**Local Storage (India Only)**

## Enter the 6-digit PIN

Enter your WhatsApp Business Platform two-step verification PIN.

If ZazzyAgent automatically registered the number during the original connection and you have never changed the PIN, the default PIN shown by the registration workflow is:

**123456**

If you changed the PIN previously, use the current PIN instead.

## What is this PIN?

The PIN belongs to WhatsApp's two-step verification system.

It isn't:

*   Your ZazzyAgent password.

*   Your Meta login password.

*   The phone-number OTP.

*   A temporary login code.

It is the 6-digit PIN used for WhatsApp Business Platform phone registration.

## Where can I change the PIN?

The ZazzyAgent registration instructions point users to the WhatsApp Business/Meta settings for two-step verification.

You can find it through the relevant:

**WhatsApp Business Manager → Settings → Two-step Verification**

Meta's interface may show the setting under WhatsApp Manager and phone-number settings.

## India-only Local Storage

You may see:

**Local Storage (India Only)**

This option is intended for Indian **+91** numbers that were migrated from another WhatsApp provider.

### Select it when:

Your number is:

**+91**

and:

**The number was migrated from another WhatsApp provider.**

### Leave it unchecked when:

*   The number is new.

* The number was never connected to another provider.

* The number is outside India.

Do not turn this option on simply because you're using an Indian number.

## Why does migration matter?

A number that has previously been connected to another WhatsApp provider can have a different migration history from a newly created WhatsApp API number.

That's why the registration workflow distinguishes migrated Indian numbers from ordinary numbers.

## What happens after registration?

ZazzyAgent should complete the registration process for the connected WhatsApp phone number.

Afterward, verify that:

* The WhatsApp account remains connected.

* The number shows the expected status.

*   Messaging works.

* Your display name is correct.

* Your automation can receive and send messages.

## Test the number

Send a test message from another WhatsApp number.

Check:

**Incoming message**

→ ZazzyAgent receives it

→ Automation responds

Then test an outbound message where appropriate.

## Don't register repeatedly

Repeated registration is not a routine maintenance step.

The standard connection workflow handles registration automatically.

Manually registering every time you log into ZazzyAgent is unnecessary.

## When registration can be useful

Registration can be relevant after configuration changes.

For example:

> You changed your WhatsApp display name.

After the appropriate Meta-side change, you may need to follow the registration/synchronization instructions shown by ZazzyAgent.

The exact requirement depends on what changed.

## What if registration fails?

Don't immediately change settings at random.

Check:

1.  Correct WhatsApp number.

2.  Correct WABA.

3.  Current two-step verification PIN.

4. Whether you actually need to register again.

5. Whether this is a migrated +91 number.

6. Whether Local Storage should be enabled.

If the number was previously connected to another provider, migration status is especially important.

## What if you don't know the PIN?

First determine whether the default PIN is still active.

If it was changed previously, you'll need the current WhatsApp two-step verification PIN.

Don't assume that the ZazzyAgent default value remains correct after someone has changed it.

## Important distinction

There are three different things you may encounter:

**OTP**

Used to verify control of a phone number.

**WhatsApp registration PIN**

Used for the WhatsApp Business Platform registration process.

**Meta password**

Used to log into your Meta account.

Keep them separate.

## Recommended process

```text
WhatsApp connected
       ↓
Did you change number/display name
or need migration registration?
       ↓
     No → Don't register
       ↓
     Yes
       ↓
Open Register Phone
       ↓
Enter current 6-digit PIN
       ↓
Indian +91 migrated from another provider?
       ↓
Yes → Enable Local Storage
No  → Leave it unchecked
       ↓
Register
       ↓
Test WhatsApp
```

The safest approach is to use **Register Phone when it is actually required**, not simply because the option exists.
